Food Security
In line with its commitment to capacity development, SAVE CONGO delivers a 45-day online training programme in the Food Security sector through its " Humanitarian School ", available in five languages - French, English, Portuguese, Spanish, and Arabic. The programme culminates in an internationally recognized certification and is delivered by academic experts and seasoned practitioners, including specialists affiliated with the Food and Agriculture Organization and the World Food Programme.
The course aims to strengthen participants' ability to design, implement, and monitor evidence-based food security interventions in humanitarian and recovery settings. It provides in-depth training on food security assessment methodologies, including the Integrated Food Security Phase Classification (IPC) and the Household Economy Approach (HEA), enabling accurate analysis of needs and vulnerabilities.
Participants are equipped to deliver context-appropriate emergency food assistance, with a focus on modalities such as in-kind support, cash transfers, and voucher systems, ensuring efficiency, accountability, and alignment with international standards. The programme further addresses livelihoods-based interventions, supporting recovery and resilience through agriculture, livestock, and fisheries programming.
Particular emphasis is placed on market-based approaches and resilience programming, strengthening participants' capacity to integrate market analysis into programme design and to promote sustainable outcomes. The training also covers seasonal planning and shock-responsive programming, enabling adaptive responses to climate variability, conflict, and economic shocks.
The programme is designed to be accessible and practice-oriented, with a registration fee of USD 25. Upon confirmation of enrolment, participants will receive a secure access link to the online learning platform.
