WASH Sector

In alignment with international standards SAVE CONGO delivers a 45-day online training programme in the WASH sector (Water, Sanitation and Hygiene) through its " Humanitarian School ", offered in five languages - French, English, Portuguese, Spanish, and Arabic. The programme leads to an internationally recognized certification and is facilitated by qualified academic experts and experienced field practitioners from UNICEF.

The training is structured to strengthen participants' ability to deliver safe, equitable, and sustainable WASH services in humanitarian and fragile contexts, with a strong emphasis on public health outcomes and community engagement. It provides comprehensive guidance on emergency water supply systems, including groundwater extraction, water trucking, and treatment solutions, ensuring compliance with quality standards and rapid deployment in crisis situations.

Participants are equipped with competencies in sanitation programming, including the design and management of latrines, solid waste management, and environmental sanitation interventions aimed at reducing disease transmission. Particular emphasis is placed on hygiene promotion and social and behavior change (SBC) approaches, enabling participants to design inclusive and culturally appropriate interventions that promote healthy practices.

The programme also addresses cholera preparedness and response, focusing on integrated, multi-sectoral approaches to outbreak prevention and control. In addition, participants gain practical knowledge in the planning and implementation of WASH infrastructure in camps and communities, ensuring access, safety, and dignity for affected populations, particularly women, children, and vulnerable groups.

To ensure accessibility, technical rigor, and operational relevance, the training is offered at a registration fee of USD 25. Upon confirmation of enrolment, participants receive a secure access link to the online learning platform.
